Specialist
UKPHR was established following calls by employers and employees to create a standards framework to which specialists in public health can adhere. By registering, UKPHR recognise that you are competent to practise in your professional area of expertise.
UKPHR recognises all specialists on its register of equal value.
There are currently three routes to gain UKPHR specialist registration. For information, UKPHR only regulates public health professionals who practise in the UK – our remit is protection of the UK public. As we are a UK register, therefore registration with us is not recognised overseas. We do not regulate international public health professionals.
If you are currently based overseas but have experience of working as a senior public health professional within the UK, you are welcome to submit a SRbPA pre-application in accordance with the guidance. Before proceeding to submit a pre-application, please ensure that you are familiar with the requirements of maintaining your registration as a specialist, which will apply if you remain overseas.
