Restoration to the Register
Registration has to be renewed annually and registrants must re-register/revalidate every 5 years. There may be occasions where registrants fail to renew registration on time despite receiving alerts from UKPHR prior to their due dates.
In cases where a registrant has not met their deadline for annual renewal or 5-yearly revalidation/re-registration, the following procedures will apply in accordance with our lapsed, restoration and withdrawal policy.
If a registrant wishes to restore their ‘Active’ status on the register, they must apply directly to the Registrar. The Registrar has the discretion to grant restoration to the register. The Registrar may decide either of the following decisions:
- Refuse restoration
- Seek further information from the applicant
- Grant restoration
The Registrar will also decide whether the applicant has to pay a one-off restoration administration fee and renewal fees in arrears. This decision will be determined on the basis of extenuating circumstances.
The Registrar makes all restoration decisions and may seek advice from an Advisory Panel. The Registrar will normally accept restoration if the registrant is able to provide evidence that they have engaged in appropriate CPD and demonstrate contemporaneous public health practice during the period of lapse, withdrawal or archive, and are able to meet the ongoing requirements for maintaining registration if restored.
