How to apply for specialist registration
Currently there are three routes to gaining specialist registration with UKPHR. They differ in the time it takes from application to admission to the Register.
1. Standard route
Applicants are eligible to apply for UKPHR specialist registration upon completion of public health specialty training such as the Specialty Training programme that is overseen by the Faculty of Public Health.
2. Specialist Registration by Portfolio Assessment
This retrospective portfolio assessment route requires individuals to seek approval to continue to submit a portfolio for assessment by means of a pre-application process.
3. Dual registration
The opportunity of entirely optional dual registration is available for those who are already on the public health specialty register of either the General Medical Council or General Dental Council.
