UKPHR publishes registrant guidance on safeguarding and whistleblowing
As recommended by the Professional Standards Authority, UKPHR has in October 2020 published guidance to registrants on the following subjects:
- Safeguarding
- Whistleblowing and duty of candour.
There are no surprises for registrants in the guidance which amounts to:
- Drawing attention to the relevant sections of Good Public Health Practice 2016 and Code of Conduct 2014
- Signposting sources of advise and support already available elsewhere.
- Nevertheless, the subjects covered are very important and UKPHR urges all registrants to ensure that they and their work colleagues are fully cognisant of the matters at issue. Where appropriate, UKPHR will be happy to help with future queries and points of professional practice relating to this guidance.
