After graduating with a BSc in Biomedical Science, I began working at UKPHR in 2014 in various roles such as Administrator and Registration Services Manager. During my time here i have also gained a Masters in Public Health. Over the past decade at UKPHR i have immersed myself in all aspects of public health regulation, from intial registration, maintaining registration, dealing with concerns to name a few.
My current role is varied with a heavy focus on continous improvement. I support the Chief Executive in overseeing general business operations, leading on policy development and business improvement and i work closely with our Registrar in managing registration services.

Anisah Ali
Practitioner Registration Lead
I am thrilled to be a recent addition to the team, bringing with me a diverse background rooted in education and public health advocacy. With a solid foundation in teaching, I transitioned to a pivotal role as an investigator for the NHS, where I delved deep into the intricacies of public health challenges. This experience ignited my passion for making a tangible difference bringing me to work with UKPHR.
In my role as a Practitioner Registration Lead, I am dedicated to facilitating the registration journey for aspiring public health practitioners. My focus lies in providing support and guidance to applicants, fostering a seamless experience that aligns with UKPHR’s values.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am deeply passionate about exploring new destinations through travelling. I love immersing myself in different cultures and trying diverse cuisines!
Helen Jeffries
Specialist Registration Officer
Hi, I’m Helen, UKPHR’s Specialist Registration Officer. I’ve been working at UKPHR since 2018, and in my current role as Specialist Registration Officer, I process SRbPA pre-applications and portfolios. This involves checking applications, finding assessors, allocating applications for assessment, and keeping applicants informed on progress. When the assessments have been made, they are presented at our monthly Registration Panel (RP), at which I provide secretariat. Following the RP and subsequent Registration Approvals Committee, I then send applicant outcome letters and ensure any follow up actions are undertaken (e.g. organising feedback meetings between applicants and assessors).
