UKPHR Specialists to revalidate from 1st April 2019
At its meeting held on the 3rd July, UKPHR’s Board agreed that revalidation for all specialists will launch from the 1st April 2019. Revalidation for all practitioner registrants will be delayed until appropriate arrangements are in place to support practitioners with professional appraisal.

One of the requirements for revalidation will be to complete an annual professional appraisal. As revalidation will be implemented on 1st April 2019, this will mean that the requirement for annual professional appraisal will also have effect from the same date.
The requirement for annual professional appraisal will not be retrospective and therefore we will not require past appraisals completed before 1st April 2019 (as we required to be produced for 5-yearly re-registration) to be professional appraisals.
The requirement for annual professional appraisal is prospective and therefore your first professional appraisal will need to take place between April 2019 and March 2020.
