Marianne Coward
Marianne is a Creative Business Development Consultant and brings leadership experience and delivery across a range of different essential sectors including, prevention education, public safety, safeguarding, education and creative industries.
Marianne’s current roles include, Governor at South & City College Birmingham, with responsibilities as Lead Governor for Safeguarding, Health & Wellbeing and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Governor/Trustee at City of Birmingham Schools, (COBS), Pupil Referral Unit. As an experienced regulator, with significant Board experience gained from working in complex and transformational environments, she is skilled in developing trusted and collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries.
She previously held the position of Head of Community Safety at West Midlands Fire & Rescue Service focusing on communities and families at greatest risk and received numerous awards for her exceptional contributions to innovative prevention education. Marianne is passionate about reducing health disparities and inequalities and improving outcomes to ensure marginalised communities can be better supported to access and receive good quality healthcare.
Marianne was educated in London, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Central England, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communications and a Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership Management from the Institute of Leadership Management. Marianne taught for many years as a University visiting lecturer in Business Design Communication. She previously chaired Birmingham Safer Partnerships Network. In her spare time she is a young people’s mentor and marketing communications mentor to SME’s and micro businesses.
Marianne is dedicated to inclusion in all aspects of her work and to ensuring her role on the Board of the UK Public Health Register will help to make a positive difference to the wellbeing of our communities throughout the United Kingdom and workforce at a critical time.
