James Sandy
James has worked across local government, clinical commissioning, the voluntary sector and professional bodies in a variety of roles- principally with a policy and public affairs focus.
James is currently a Senior Consultant within the Strategy Unit at NHS Midlands & Lancashire CSU.
Within the public affairs and trade union team of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) James worked widely across the nations and regions of the UK on workforce issues and influencing. This role also focused on key partnerships with fellow AHP organisations.
James has developed a strong focus on patient engagement and volunteering through a range of projects such as developing a local Healthwatch and supporting a disability forum. He has also led schools-based programmes and social enterprise projects to engage business leaders in international campaigns.
Through the Board James takes a keen interest in the effectiveness of equalities policies and the protection of the digital rights of citizens.
In his spare time, James is a presenter and producer for community radio and has initiated several community arts projects to engage volunteers in music, radio and production.
