FTP Triage Guidance
Before any concern about a UKPHR registrant can be investigated, it must first go through triage — an initial assessment to decide whether the concern meets the threshold to be taken further. This guidance explains how that process works.
Triage exists to make sure we focus our resources on concerns that genuinely relate to fitness to practise, while screening out those that are vexatious, trivial, or clearly unfounded. It’s not a determination of guilt — it’s a judgement about whether there’s enough credible information to warrant a fuller investigation.
In the guidance, we explain the four key tests we apply and what happens if a concern does or doesn’t meet the threshold.
