4. Recognition of Specialist Status (RSS)

This route is for those already in senior positions who wish to apply for recognition of their status as a generalist specialist in public health. This route is called Recognition of Specialist Status (RSS).

UKPHR’s Board requires that those who wish to apply for Recognition of Specialist Status have to seek permission to proceed because this is an exceptional route.

An applicant must have held a post in public health at consultant level for three or more years and have worked for at least three years at senior strategic level.

This route to registration will close on the 31st August 2019 and will be replaced by a single retrospective portfolio assessment route; Specialist Registration by Portfolio Assessment.
