3. 5-yearly re-registration of practitioners
The purpose of re-registration is to conduct a more rigorous check than at each annual renewal so as to monitor fitness to practise and promote improvement in the quality of public health practice.
UKPHR’s Board has approved a revalidation policy and guidance for practitioners, however has not agreed a launch date in order to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place to support practitioners with professional appraisal.
You will be contacted 6 months prior to your re-registration with a request to submit your application. Reminders will follow until you acknowledge your upcoming deadline. If your application is not received in full before your re-registration date, you will be provided a 15 working day grace period to complete the requirements and within this time, your status will remain “active” and your name visible on the public Register. If an satisfactory application has not been submitted within these 15 working days, a registrants status will be reverted to “lapse” and their name no longer visible on the public Register. Registrants who wish to reinstate their “active” status are required to apply for restoration and complete any outstanding requirements such as re-registration. For more information on how to apply for restoration, please click here. A restoration fee may be applicable.
To successfully re-register, you must submit the following:

– countersigned by someone registered at specialist level with the UKPHR, GMC or GDC

– any type of appraisal under current re-registration policy
